Your whole operation, read by someone who's run one.

We don't just build software. Every engagement starts with a consultant's deep dive into how your team actually works — donations, outreach, marketing, reporting, the administrative work no one sees — so the tools we build fit, and the workflows around them get sharper too. You keep the analysis whether or not you build a thing.

What you actually get

Two things, in one engagement.

First a consultant reads your whole operation. Then we build the tools that read says you need. Either one stands on its own — together they're the point.

01
First — the analysis
A consultant's read on your whole operation.
We sit with your team and walk every workflow — not just the software. Where the hours go, where a record gets retyped three times, where a good donor goes quiet because no one remembered to follow up.
You walk away with
  • A written map of every workflow — where the hours actually go
  • The friction ranked: what to fix first, what to leave alone
  • A build plan with a fixed price — yours to keep
Useful even if you never build a thing.
02
Then — the tools
Custom apps built around what we found.
The analysis tells us what to build — and what not to. One tool or several, connected as tightly as you need, shaped to how your team already works.
You walk away with
  • Custom apps, shaped to how your team already works
  • One connected system — your records, your people, your numbers
  • The whole thing handed over: your account, your data, your name
No licenses. No per-seat fees. No consultant you can't leave.
The analysis is yours to keep. The tools are yours to own.
What the analysis covers

Every part of the operation — not just the software.

Most consultants look at your tools. We look at how the work moves through your organization — because the biggest leaks are rarely in the software. They're in the handoffs.

01
Donations
How gifts come in, get recorded, and get acknowledged — and where a gift falls through the cracks before it ever reaches a thank-you.
02
Outreach
The path from first contact to someone showing up. Where names get retyped, where follow-ups depend on memory, and where good leads go quiet.
03
Marketing
How stories get told and measured — the calendar, the lists, the channels — and the hours spent moving the same content between them.
04
Reporting
What you owe your board, your funders, and yourselves — and how much of it is rebuilt by hand every month from spreadsheets that don't agree.
05
Administrative work
The quiet weight: approvals, renewals, deadlines, vendor bills, the things only one person knows how to do. We find the single points of failure.
06
Programs & volunteers
How the actual work gets delivered and tracked — the people, the hours, the outcomes — and the gap between what happened and what anyone can prove.
The point isn't a smaller software bill. It's your team's hours going to the mission — not to moving data between systems.
When the analysis is done, you'll know exactly where the week went — and exactly how to get it back.
Sean Couch
The consultant

Advice from someone who's run one.

Four-time Founder · Foundation President · Grantmaker ·
Advertising, Digital Media & Product Marketing

You work with Sean Couch — directly. He leads a grantmaking foundation, co-founded a conservation nonprofit, and spent his career in advertising, digital media, and product marketing before building the internal tools his own organizations ran on.

So the read you get isn't theoretical. It's shaped by years of grading grant applications from the funder's side of the table, paying the same software bills every nonprofit pays, and sitting in the board meetings where the numbers have to add up. He's been the client. Now he's the consultant — and the builder, in the same person.

How an engagement runs

Four steps. No surprises.

STEP 01 · FREE
Get Started
A guided walkthrough, not a form. About ten minutes in your own words, reviewed by a human — not scored by a bot. You'll hear back with a real read on what you need.
You leave with
A written blueprint of the system that fits how your team works — yours to keep.

STEP 02
Frame
The analysis goes deep. We sit with your team, walk every workflow and spreadsheet, and map the friction across donations, outreach, marketing, reporting, and admin — then decide what stays, what goes, and what gets built. Short interviews, no homework for you.
You leave with
A written workflow analysis, a build plan, and a fixed price. Useful even if we never build a thing.
STEP 03
Develop
We build the tools the analysis pointed to, shaped to how your team runs. You see working software every week, and your data moves over carefully. Price depends on how many tools you need — the menu is on our pricing page, and nothing on it is a surprise.
You leave with
Tools in real use before the engagement ends, not after.
STEP 04
Print
The handoff. Code, data, documentation, and training. The tools live in your own Base44 account, on your domain, in your name. We hand over the keys and step back. If you want us on call afterward, that's a separate conversation — never a requirement.
You leave with
Everything. The tools are yours.
The honest answers

What you're actually signing up for.

Three questions established nonprofits ask before they trust a custom build. Here is the straight answer to each — no fine print, no consultant-speak.

01
If you already have a system
Full migration or partial replacement.

Plenty of the teams we work with are already on a CRM — HubSpot, Blackbaud, Keela, Virtuous, a homegrown database. That is a normal engagement, not an edge case. The Frame is where we decide what stays and what goes.

Sometimes that means moving everything off the old system. Often it means keeping the enterprise CRM for what it does well and replacing the parts that hurt — the donor list, the forms, the reporting, the volunteer coordination. We replace what is costing you hours and leave what already works alone.

02
What it costs to keep running
A small, predictable hosting bill.

The app we build runs on Base44 — the same low-cost hosting platform we build with. After handoff it lives in your own Base44 account, on your domain, in your name. There is no per-seat license for the app itself, and no renewal you forgot to cancel.

What you do pay is a modest hosting cost — a fraction of the per-seat SaaS stack you are leaving, and predictable rather than escalating. The code and the data are yours. If you ever wanted to move fully off Base44, the frontend is standard React and the data is exportable, but the backend is tied to the platform — so that is a real rebuild project, not a button. We would help if the day ever comes.

03
What your team needs to know
Three doors. None requires us.

Day-to-day use — records, reports, logins — is zero code; it is a web app with an admin interface. Config and admin — users, settings, permissions — is done in the Base44 studio UI, not in code.

New features, bug fixes, and enhancements are the only place code is involved, and Base44 is an AI-assisted builder — the same tool GiveFocus used. So your team can extend the app with AI assistance inside Base44, bring in any developer, or come back to us for an enhancement engagement. All three doors are open. None of them locks you in.

What it costs

One fixed price, agreed in the Frame.

One fixed price, agreed in the Frame. No licenses, no per-seat fees, no retainer you forgot to cancel. The Frame is free — we verify what your team needs and confirm the pricing works, with nothing missing.

The price is the whole price.
If scope grows, we say so before it costs you anything. That's the deal.
